Research announcement : Albert Maignan exhibition, Musée de Picardie in Amiens

All the versions of this article: English , français

From June 2025 to January 2026, the Musée de Picardie will be staging the first retrospective devoted to Albert Maignan, a prolific artist who lent his talents to easel painting, illustration and various decorative commissions (paintings, cartoons for stained glass windows and tapestries). The Musée de Picardie’s generous bequest of his studio collection, as well as his very rich collection of antique and medieval works, is the reason for this tribute to him, revealing to the public the full diversity of this engaging personality whose exemplary official career spanned the years 1867 to 1908.

With this in mind, we are seeking to locate a corpus of the artist’s works, as well as letters, photographs and archives.

The curator of the exhibition, Véronique Alemany, conservatrice générale honoraire du patrimoine and a specialist in Maignan’s work, invites owners of works or documents to contact her by email: v.alemany@wanadoo.fr and assures them of her complete discretion.
