An unpublished drawing by Goltzius enters the Fondation Custodia
25/4/23 - Acquisition - Paris, Fondation Custodia - As an exhibition devoted to the twelve years of acquisitions by the late Ger Luijten, who passed away over a year ago (see news item of 20/12/22), is about to open in two days’ time, the gallery has just acquired a previously unpublished sheet by Hendrick Goltzius in his honour. The seller is a gallery that does not wish its name to be revealed.
This is the first acquisition made by the new director, Stijn Alsteens, who took up his post at the beginning of April. Ger Luijten was one of the curators of the Goltzius retrospective held in 2003-2004 [1].
